Hi, I'm Katie.
Founder and Director of The Creative Lodge. With over twenty years in brand strategy, design, marketing, and business development, I bring a strategic lens to every project I work on.
Since starting the business in 2019, I've helped multiple businesses in the property, finance, government, wellness, and consulting sectors grow their businesses and revenue through strategic thinking and good design.
My philosophy has always been to become an extension of your team, acting in your best interests and creating assets that empower you to feel in control of your business, brand and marketing. This is why The Creative Lodge specialises in delivering well-crafted websites in Squarespace, branding that is thoughtful and considered, but not complex, and communication design that is compelling and designed to win over your clients.

I'm a creative with 4 years' experience helping lifestyle and wellness brands look, feel, and communicate their best — across brand identity, web design, and social content.
I work end-to-end, from the first brief to final launch, so you get one consistent creative partner rather than a revolving door of contributors. My background blends strategy and storytelling with hands-on design, which means the work isn't just visually strong — it actually connects with the right audience.
Wellness and lifestyle are spaces I genuinely care about, and that passion shows in the work. If you're building something meaningful, I'd love to help bring it to life.

Poster & flyer design in Sydney, questions
A short brief, one or two concepts, an agreed number of revision rounds, then final files. You should get a print-ready PDF with bleed and crop marks, a web version for sharing online, and the editable source file. Most gigs cover a single size; ask up front if you need A5, A4, DL and a social version, because resizing properly is design work, not a button.
One message, one action. A flyer works when someone gets the offer and the next step at arm's length in about two seconds. The common mistake is cramming in everything the business does, which turns the whole thing into grey noise. Pick the single offer, make it the biggest thing on the page, and leave real white space around it.
Usually 2 to 5 days once the copy and images are in. A poster with illustration or heavy retouching runs closer to a week. The slow part is almost never the design; it is waiting on final copy and getting sign off, so lock the wording before the gig starts.
For a quick internal notice, yes. Where DIY tends to fail is print setup: files need bleed, 300dpi images and CMYK colour, and a printer will either reject the file or print something duller than your screen showed. If you are printing 5,000 of anything, the design is the cheapest part of the job to get right.
DL (99 x 210mm) suits letterbox drops and counter stands, A5 is the common handout, and A4 works as a poster or menu insert. For posters, A3 covers noticeboards and A2 or A1 suits windows and events. Your printer will confirm stock sizes, and sticking to a standard size is meaningfully cheaper than a custom cut.
A print-ready PDF with bleed and crop marks, a flattened JPG or PNG for screens, and the editable source file. Ask for the source file explicitly. It is what lets you or the next designer change a date or a price without rebuilding the whole thing.
In Sydney, a single-sided flyer from existing brand files typically runs $250 to $600, and a double-sided or more designed piece $400 to $900. A poster with custom illustration or a full event set across several sizes more commonly lands at $1,000 to $2,500. Printing is separate and paid to your printer.
The range on this page runs from about $49 to $164 an hour. Around $49 to $66 is a junior designer, $58 to $115 covers most gigs (an experienced designer working solo), and above $123 is a design lead. For a straightforward flyer from existing brand files, the lower end is usually fine.
Look for printed work in their portfolio, not just screen mockups, and ask whether they have supplied print-ready files before. Give two or three examples of flyers you like and one you do not. That single step removes most of the back and forth.
Post a poster and flyer design gig in under five minutes. Describe the work, set your budget and timeframe, and choose whether it is time-based or outcome-based. Local freelancers send a bid with a quote, you compare their profiles, portfolios and reviews, then pick the one that fits. Posting is free, so you only pay for the work.
Every gig is split into stages you both agree on up front. You fund each stage before the work starts and it is held securely through Stripe, then released once you sign off. No chasing invoices, and no paying for work that is not done.
